What is a Virtual Appointment?

A virtual appointment is just an appointment conducted via a video conferencing platform (Zoom). The only limitation is that Dr. Barrett will not be able to perform a physical exam. It is highly recommended that you have a primary care physician on your team to make sure you have a physical exam.

New patient virtual appointments are available to MN residents only. If you are out of state, please contact Wellness Minneapolis (612-598-8627 or info@wellnessmpls.com) to join a waiting list for in-person appointments

How Does The Virtual Appointment Work?

All video consultations are done through a HIPAA compliant telemedicine platform. Your confirmation email will provide a direct link to ‘video call in’ for your appointment. Click on the link 5 minutes before your appointment time and you will be placed in ‘the waiting room’. Dr Barrett will initiate your call from ‘the waiting room’ at your appointment time. We recommend you use headphones or earbuds that have a built in  microphone (or you can use your computer's built in mic with a regular set of headphones). Make sure you're in a spot with a strong wifi signal or connect via ethernet directly to your Internet source.

Dr. Barrett utilizes a client portal software called Charm. You will receive an invitation to Charm within a few days of scheduling your initial virtual appointment. Inside of Charm you can upload your previous records. After each appointment, summary documents and handouts will be available by logging in to Charm.

How Do I Schedule and Pay for the Appointment?

To schedule an online appointment, click the schedule button at the top of the page or click here.  Your credit card will be required to hold your appointment time. This same credit card will be charged after your appointment is completed.

How will I Receive Notes from the Appointment?

All summaries and suggestions will be available in CharmPHR no more than 24 hours after your appointment.

Can I Record My Virtual Appointment with Dr. Barrett?

No, recording online appointments with Dr. Barrett is not permitted. We understand that a lot of information is disseminated during an appointment and that it can be overwhelming to attempt to remember everything. Dr. Barrett takes extensive notes during each appointment that are available to you directly after the appointment. We also recommend taking your own notes during appointments.

What If I Have To Cancel My Appointment?

Due to the demand on Dr. Barrett’s schedule, we require that you cancel or reschedule your visit at least 24 hours in advance. If you do not provide at least 24 hours notice for a cancellation or do not show up for your appointment, you will be charged the full appointment fee. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please contact Wellness Minneapolis at 612-598-8627 or info@wellnessmpls.com
